Academic Scholarships are awarded on academic merit for entry to Years 7, 9 and Lower Sixth. For Years 7 and 9, pupils are assessed on the basis of their entrance examination results, reference from previous school and performance at interview. For Lower Sixth, pupils need to state that they want to apply for a Scholarship and will be required to sit a test. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their written papers and show initiative, drive and a lively mind at interview. They will be good all-round students but may have a particular interest in one or more subjects. Details can be obtained from the admissions secretary: email@example.com.
The number of scholarships offered each year can vary. The Principal, in making such awards, will always take into consideration each candidate's potential for contributing to the ethos and life of the OLA community. The continuation of a Scholarship is dependent upon good school reports for effort, achievement and behaviour and it is our hope that all holders of Scholarships will spend the whole of their secondary education at OLA.
Maths Scholarships are awarded for entry to Years 7, 9 and Lower Sixth. These are subject to entrance examination and performance at interview. Year 7
candidates should have reached Level 5 in the National Curriculum, Year 9 Level 7 and Lower Sixth will be expected to sit a Maths Scholarship test and
should achieve A* at GCSE or equivalent. All candidates will be expected to do well in the Maths entrance examination paper. Successful candidates will be
expected to take full part in the Maths Challenges held within the school and it would be hoped that they would go on to do Maths and Further Maths at AS/A
level. Details can be obtained from the admissions secretary: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Sports Exhibitions are available for entry to Years 7, 9 and Lower Sixth. These are subject to performance at interview, entrance examination results and

two different sports. Details can be obtained from the admissions secretary: email@example.com.
The Principal has the discretion to award Exhibitions in Art, Drama, Music and Sport. The continuation of an Exhibition is dependent upon good school
reports for effort, behaviour and participation in related events.
Art Exhibitions are available for entry into Years 7, 9 and Lower Sixth. OLA offers Art Exhibitions to reward artistic excellence. The award entitles the
pupil to £100 per annum towards the cost of art materials. Prospective candidates are expected to submit a portfolio of work and attend an interview where
they will be asked to discuss work in a range of media. Art Exhibitioners will be expected to take Art at GCSE and it is hoped that they will continue the
subject on to AS/A level. Details can be obtained from the admissions secretary: firstname.lastname@example.org
Drama Exhibitions are available for entry into Years 7, 9 and Lower Sixth. An award of £100 per annum towards the purchase of play texts and theatre
tickets is available to successful candidates. Candidates will attend an audition and should demonstrate superior vocal and movement skills and
appreciation of the content and style of performance material. Exhibitioners will be expected to study Drama at GCSE and must participate in the annual
school play. Details can be obtained from the admissions secretary: email@example.com
OLA offers Music Exhibitions to help nurture young talent, reward excellence and recognise and support music potential. Music Exhibitions are available for
entry into Years 7, 9 and Lower Sixth. The award entitles the pupil to free individual tuition at school by one of the school's visiting music staff. In
addition to demonstrating innate musical skills, candidates should be working towards or beyond the following ABRSM standards, though there is no
expectation that the candidate will have taken the examinations: Year 7 - Grade 4; Year 9 - Grade 5; Lower Sixth - Grade 7. Details can be obtained from
the admissions secretary: firstname.lastname@example.org
Application forms to the School and further details are available on request from the admissions secretary
Only scholarship applicants for Lower Sixth need to fill out a separate application form, since for other age groups, these are awarded on merit in the entrance examination as described above.
